Going Back in Time!

It is always a delight to peer into our history and look at how far we have come. We've been around for a long time, but many of our original products used by customers decades ago arent around any longer. That's why we were happy to receive a picture of an old horse-drawn cultivator from a Mr. McEwan recently! He received it as a gift on his 50th birthday back in 2005 when he lived in Hertfordshire.
Mr McEwan has since moved to Perthshire and has restored the product so that it looks as good as new. The handles were too damaged to preserve, but most of the cultivator was still in a relatively good condition. Mr. McEwan and his friends restored it and repainted it just a few shades darker than the original colour.
Mr McEwan found the name Brown & Sons, Leighton Buzzard inscribed on some parts of the cultivator and traced it back to us. We thank him for sharing this picture and giving us a chance to revisit our history.
According to our archives and estimates (which can be viewed here), the cultivator is more than 100 years old! It was manufactured sometime between 1910 and 1912. It is wonderful to see it restored to its original glory and preserved in the heart of arable land.
